We Built An AI Marketing Course for Frazzled Teams

1

So, we built an AI marketing course. It was never a part of the plan, but we did it anyway.

Last year, David  rhetorically asked,: “People keep asking us how we use AI. Do we have any teachers in the room?”

He knew he had teachers in the room. He was looking directly at us.

That’s no metaphor.Several of us spent years as actual, accredited college professors before we landed in content strategy. So we said yes, because saying no would have meant admitting we didn’t know how to teach the thing we do every day.

We taught one class.

Then we taught ten.

Then we stopped treating it like a favor and built the one class we wished someone had handed us three years ago.The version that skips the panic-prompting and the beige content and gets straight to what actually works. We put it on the internet. Now it’s not just ours.

Is that everything you need to know about AI marketing? Yes and no.

If you’re already building custom AI workflows, deploying models to the cloud, or running an agent harness off a Mac mini in the corner of your office, this course will teach you almost nothing new. Fair enough. It’s just not who we built this for.

Who This AI Marketing Course Is For

If your boss just walked into the room and said, “I want to see ROI on AI by end of day,” you’re in the right place. That’s a symptom of leadership that heard AI was important and hasn’t yet connected that to a plan, which means the burden of building the plan just landed on you.

If you’re staring at a blank ChatGPT prompt window trying to get it to do your job without quietly threatening your job, you’re in the right place too. The tension is real, and it deserves better than another use-case listicle that has nothing to do with what you actually do on a Tuesday. Even Harvard’s own research on where marketing is headed backs up the instinct: the marketers who lose their jobs won’t be replaced by AI itself, but by whoever on the team actually learned to run it.

If you’re running a small marketing team where a Claude Pro subscription has somehow become the whole marketing AI strategy, we’ve seen it. A subscription is a tool. Budget lines don’t build strategy on their own.

And if you’re simply exhausted by AI jargon that doesn’t map to your actual job, this course was built to cut through it, not add to it.

The Credibility Behind the Curriculum

We didn’t design this course in a vacuum. Before we built the public version, we ran a private version of it for Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42 and Cortex marketing teams, and the results shaped everything that followed.

The engagement started with an AI readiness assessment, not a training deck. From there, we built a 12-week program with twice-weekly sessions centered on Google Gemini, aligned to their existing Workspace environment, while also covering ChatGPT, Claude, and Notion AI, because most teams don’t live inside a single tool.

The numbers held up. Ninety-five percent of trainees reported feeling prepared to keep learning as AI tools evolve, which matters more than any single skill, since the tools will keep changing. Time savings broke out across three tiers:

  • 30% of participants saved three to four hours a week
  • 45% saved five to eight hours a week
  • 15% saved nine or more hours a week

PANW’s internal AI readiness score moved from a 79 benchmark to 91 after training.

This course started with that program. What you’re getting now is the version we built for everyone else.

From Task-Level AI to a Real System: The Two-Part Course

This is a progression built on the same approach to AI marketing we use with every client, one course laying the groundwork for the next.. You can buy each course on its own, or as the bundle, but the order matters either way.

Part I: AI Marketing Operator – Master Your Tools and Start Executing

The first course, AI Marketing Operator, starts where most marketers actually are: using AI tool by tool, with no system connecting any of it.

It covers the Human Sandwich model: human strategy in, AI assistance in the middle, human review before anything ships. We’ve written before about why AI belongs in the room as an intern, not as the one holding the pen.

It also covers connectivity over consolidation: matching the right tool to the right task instead of forcing one chatbot to do everything. And it introduces an eight-part framework for giving AI clear boundaries and success criteria, so you’re not reinventing the prompt from scratch every time.

Part II: AI Marketing Architect – Build the Factory Behind the Product

The second course, AI Marketing Architect, is where the shift from tasks to systems happens.

You’ll build permanent, brand-trained AI co-workers instead of repeating the same one-off prompt every week. You’ll learn the distinction between automation, which moves data, and AI, which makes meaning, and how to map a workflow across both. And you’ll learn to roll out new systems safely, starting with a minimum viable output and running it through an authenticity filter before it goes anywhere near your audience.

Take them individually, or together as the Architecting the AI Marketing Ecosystem bundle.

What You Actually Get Beyond Talking-head Videos

We’re bringing more to the table than a stack of pre-recorded lectures.

The self-paced format includes video lectures, live demos, quizzes, and hands-on activities, so you’re applying the framework as you go instead of watching someone else apply it. A video can explain the eight-part prompt framework in ten minutes. An activity, on the other hand, forces you to run it against your own campaign and find out where it breaks.

Purchase also gets you access to the AI Workshop Slack Community, home of our Quick Wins Playbook. That’s where the templates, the prompt library, and the real agent examples from other marketers actually live, alongside a running room of operators and architects trading workflows in real time. If the videos give you the framework, the community is where you stress-test it against people doing the same work you are.

Start With the Playbook. Take the Course Whenever.

You don’t need to be sold on urgency here. We already covered that—your boss probably handled it for us.

What we’d rather you know: even if you never get around to watching a single video, Architecting the AI Marketing Ecosystem still hands you a playbook, a working prompt library, and a quick-wins guide, right off the bat.

It’s a deliberately low-pressure offer for a subject that generates a lot of pressure. Doing this well doesn’t mean you need a computer science degree or a Mac mini in the corner.

You need a system, a little instruction, and someone willing to say the quiet part out loud: most teams aren’t behind. They’re under-resourced and under-tooled, not undereducated.

We had the teachers in the room. Might as well use them.
