What Is Generative AI?

Generative AI refers to machine learning models trained on large volumes of existing media that can produce new text, images, audio, or video in response to a prompt. In content marketing, generative AI is most often used to accelerate drafting, ideation, and production at a scale no human team could match alone. The output is fast. Whether it’s usable is a separate question entirely.

Why Is Generative AI Important?

Out of the box, generative AI doesn’t sound like your brand. It sounds like the internet average of every brand it was trained on. That’s a real problem in industries where trust is the product being sold: a cybersecurity CMO can’t afford content that reads as generic when their buyers expect precision and nuance from the first sentence. Generative AI is a legitimate accelerant, but only once it’s trained on a brand’s actual voice, facts, and subject matter expertise. Velocity without that groundwork just moves the credibility problem faster.

Can You Use Generative AI In A Sentence, Please?

“Generative AI got us a first draft in ten minutes, but it took our SME another hour to make it sound like something we’d actually publish.”
